The coffee distributor evens the coffee out completely in your portafilter before tamping. This ensures better extraction, prevents channels and thus makes your espresso shots more consistent.
The distributor is very easy to use — simply place it in your portafilter and turn it 2-4 times. Do not press it down into the coffee. Once this is done, you are ready to tamp your coffee with a regular tamper and you will get a perfect espresso shot.
