Hario Column coffee grinder is a manual grinder in a vintage design, used to grind small portions of coffee for several different brewing methods.
It uses a conical burr that produces a consistent result.
This will not rust, as it is ceramic. Therefore it will also not heat up during grinding or impart flavor to the coffee. You can adjust the coarseness of the coffee yourself using an adjustment ring at the top. This way you can grind for any brewing method, from espresso to French press.
In addition to the ceramic burr, the grinder is made of wood and metal. All in all, this gives a visual expression that can make one feel quite nostalgic. It is designed to resemble the manual grinders used over the past few centuries.
Since the grinder is manually operated, it therefore does not use any electricity.
This also makes it quieter than a typical electric grinder. The grinder has a capacity of 40g.
