The kettle is the electric version of the popular stovetop kettle designed by Michael Graves in 1985. It is equipped with an electric base, which means the jug itself is cordless and therefore suitable for serving.
The classic kettle from 1985 is a perfect combination of mass production and exceptional design, which designer Michael Graves worked hard to achieve. Graves has also given the kettle a personal touch with a mix of Art Deco and Pop Art.
The kettle is made of polished stainless steel and colored plastic.
Michael Graves was an American designer and architect who was part of “New York Five” - five architects who advocated a pure form of modernism. Graves has created a large number of remarkable buildings, bl.a. hotels for Walt Disney Company. The classic stovetop kettle that he designed for Alessi remains Alessi's best-selling product to date.
